Western Bats

Dr. Cori Lausen, Wildlife Conservation Society Canada’s Director of Bat Conservation, lives and works in British Columbia. She has an MSc and PhD in bat ecology, physiology and landscape genetics. Her research and conservation has largely focussed on bats in western Canada, and she has taught many bat-related courses in US, Canada and abroad. Cori has specialized in the application of bat acoustics and inventory methods including capture and genetic sampling. She helped develop the North American Bat Monitoring program, is lead author of the Bat of British Columbia (2022), and oversees a team of WCSC staff and contractors that make up the Western Canada Bat Conservation Program.
