Ontario Northern BorealEmma Wegener joined WCS Canada's Ontario Northern Boreal program in 2026. She is interested in answering questions related to the impact of cumulative disturbances on peatland biogeochemistry.
Emma is a PhD candidate at the University of Guelph, where she studies the peatlands of the Hudson Bay Lowlands, and has previously worked in northern peatland biogeochemistry for 5+ years. She is passionate about peatland protection, and the preservation of Ontario's incredible northern spaces.
