Austin Zeller

Austin Zeller is a wildlife biologist working in the field since 2015. During his undergraduate degree (University of British Columbia, 2018), Austin worked as a park interpreter and learned the importance in public engagement in science and land management. He then completed his MSc. in ecology at the University of Alberta (2024) studying Pileated Woodpecker behavioural patterns and habitat ecology. Previously Austin had worked with species of conservation concern in the United States and Canada including Greater Sage Grouse, Piping Plover, and Collared pika. Austin's research interests include landscape ecology, population ecology, detection probability, indigenous land stewardship, land management, and conservation decision making.
